Afan Chapter No.833 marked a momentous occasion at Port Talbot Masonic Hall during their Installation Convocation on Monday 13th November 2023. The M.E. Grand Superintendent, D. Gerald Rowbottom, led the proceedings with his Provincial team, while the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. R. Michael Coombes, added to the distinguished presence.
The evening resonated with joy as the chapter commemorated the remarkable 40-year journey of E.Comp. David Suter, P2PGP, who celebrated 40 years as a Royal Arch Mason, having been exalted on October 10, 1983. The celebration showcased his dedication and commitment to Royal Arch.
Adding to the significance of the event, the newly installed Principals, E.Comp. Phil Thomas (Z), E.Comp. Dillwyn Evans (H), and E.Comp. Richard Evans (J), are all Baglan Lodge Past Masters. Their installation brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Afan Chapter.
As Afan Chapter anticipates its centenary this year, having been consecrated on January 1, 1923, the members eagerly await a date from Supreme Grand Chapter to commemorate this century-long journey and celebrate this remarkable achievement in the rich history of Freemasonry.
