Dewi Sant Lodge No. 9067 to Conduct its Ritual Work in the Welsh Language

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master is delighted to announce that the Board of General Purposes is minded to grant permission, in accordance with an accompanying scheme, for a single designated Lodge in the Province to conduct its ritual work in the Welsh language.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master has nominated Dewi Sant Lodge No. 9067 for that privilege.

Accordingly, upon the Board’s receipt and approval of a certified translation it is expected that permission will be granted for Dewi Sant Lodge No. 9067 to begin working in Welsh from the beginning of the new Masonic season in October.

At a meeting of Dewi Sant Lodge on Wednesday 17th April 2019, the brethren present received the news with absolute delight; as working in what for many is their mother tongue has been a long-held ambition of the Lodge.

Lodge Secretary, W.Bro. Elfan W. Jones, PPrJGW noted

“The members of Dewi Sant Lodge are absolutely overjoyed at this news and are optimistic for the exciting new chapter that lies ahead. We are incredibly grateful to the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Gareth Jones, for his invaluable work in securing this momentous step forward.”

Mae’r Gwir Hybarch Brif Feistr y Dalaith wrth ei fodd cael cyhoeddi fod Bwrdd y Dibenion Cyffredinol yn bwriadu rhoi caniatâd, yn unol â chynllun atodedig, i un Gyfrinfa ddynodedig yn y Dalaith i gynnal ei gwaith seremonïol yn yr iaith Gymraeg.

Mae’r Gwir Hybarch Brif Feistr y Dalaith wedi enwebu Cyfrinfa Dewi Sant ar gyfer y fraint honno.

O ganlyniad, wedi i’r Bwrdd dderbyn a chymeradwyo cyfieithiad ardystiedig, disgwylir y rhoddir caniatâd i Gyfrinfa Dewi Sant i ddechrau gweithio yn Gymraeg o ddechrau’r tymor Saeryddol newydd ym mis Hydref.

Derbyniodd y rhai hynny a oedd yn bresennol y newyddion â llawenydd di‑ben‑draw, am fod gweithio yn yr hyn sy’n famiaith i lawer o’r Brodyr wedi bod yn uchelgais hirdymor gan y Gyfrinfa.

Dywedodd yr H. Fd Elfan W. Jones PI-WBD

“Mae’r aelodau yn llawen y tu hwnt ac uwchben eu digon a mwy wrth glywed y newyddion hyn ac maent yn edrych ymlaen yn ffyddiog at y cyfnod newydd cyffrous sydd i ddod. Yr ydym yn hynod o ddiolchgar i’r Gwir Hybarch Brif Feistr y Dalaith, y G.H. Frawd Gareth Jones am ei waith amhrisiadwy wrth sicrhau’r cam enfawr hwn.”
