E. Comp Simon K. S. Daniel, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals

In Royal Arch he was appointed Past Provincial Grand Standard Bearer in June 2014 and Promoted in June 2019 to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer. In January 2022 he was appointed as Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals. He was Exalted into Afan Chapter No 833 in October 2004. He went on to join Gelligaer Chapter No 6298 in 2007 and became its First Principal in September 2011. He is joining member of Hendre Chapter No. 3250 and Lord Swansea Chapter No. 8364.

Simon now lives in Bargoed, Caerphilly, but is originally from Swansea. He was initiated into Meridian Lodge No 9603, by his father, the late W.Bro Keith S. Daniel on 17thApril 2001. In November 2007 he joined Ystrad Mynach Lodge No. 8567 and became its Master in May 2010. He is currently the Lodge Treasurer.

In Craft he received his first Provincial appointed June 2012, that of Provincial Junior Grand Deacon. He was promoted in June 2017 to Past Provincial Grand Superintendent of Works. In 2019 he was delighted to be made Provincial Junior Warden. In January 2022 he became Provincial Grand Membership Officer for Craft.

In 2021 he was appointed to Grand Lodge to the rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies. He was also appointed to Supreme Grand Chapter as Past Grand Standard Bearer the same year. He is a member of the Solomon working group for UGLE.

Simon is a member of the MCWP group for Supreme Grand Chapter that reports into the Committee of General Purpose. It has been charged to look at the future of Royal Arch membership and the development of a Royal Arch Pathway. He was appointed in May 2019 as a Trustee of the Masonic Benevolent Fund, South Wales and now Heads the Masonic Grants group.

In other orders, he is Master of Trinity Mark Lodge No. 1845 and Worshipful Commander of Caerffili Lodge Royal Ark Mariners No. 1348. In Knights Templar he is a Past Eminent Preceptor of Fforest Preceptory No. 582 and the Preceptory Treasurer. He is a joining member of Owain Glyndwr Preceptory No. 547. In Provincial Grand Priory he holds the rank of Past Provincial Standard Bearer (VB). He has just become a member of The Order of the Secret Monitor, Paul Raymond Clement Conclave No. 623 and Merthyr Tydfil Council of Royal & Select Masters No. 120.

Simon is a Hotel manager of two Spa hotels in South Wales and a trained Chef. He is married to Janet and has three Children and three grandchildren. His other interests are Cricket, Gardening and travel.
