On Thursday, 29th January 2026, the Second Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Simon Daniel, was on duty and accompanied by his Provincial Escort for the Installation of the Third Principal at Fforest Chapter No.2606 Treharris.
Unfortunately, the Third Principal Elect had been unable to attend the Chapter Installation Convocation in September, and it was therefore a pleasure to complete the Installation on this occasion.
The meeting proved to be one of particular celebration, as two Companions were presented with their 40-Year Certificates. What made this especially noteworthy was that both recipients are currently serving Principals of the Chapter.
E.Comp. Richard Jones, who has served the Chapter for 42 years, was Exalted in Fforest Chapter on 4th July 1985. Throughout his distinguished service, he has held several offices including Principal Sojourner in 1987, Second Assistant Sojourner in 1992 and 1994, and First Assistant Sojourner in 1995. In 2026, he was Installed as Third Principal of the Chapter.
E.Comp. Alun Caffery was Exalted in Fforest Chapter on 30th January 1986 and celebrates 40 years of dedicated service. His offices include Organist from 2016 to 2025, First Assistant Sojourner in 2017, Assistant Scribe E in 2023, Installed as Third Principal in 2024, and Installed as Second Principal in 2025.
The Second Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Simon Daniel, was delighted to present E.Comps. Richard and Alun with their certificates and lapel pins to mark this outstanding achievement.
Past Second Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Marc Lewis, was also in attendance on this land mark occasion.
