Members of West Glamorgan Chapter No. 5291 gathered to honour E.Comp. Lionel Blann, who celebrates an impressive 40 years of dedicated service to Royal Arch Masonry.
Exalted into West Glamorgan Chapter on 13th September 1984, E.Comp. Lionel embraced Chapter with enthusiasm from the very beginning. Progressing steadily through the offices, he was installed as First Principal in 2000, and again in 2005, demonstrating both leadership and unwavering commitment. His ceremonial skills became a defining feature of his service, leading to his long and distinguished tenure as Director of Ceremonies from 2016 to 2023. He continues to support the Chapter today as Assistant Director of Ceremonies.
In addition, he proudly holds Honorary Membership of Duffryn Tawe Chapter No. 6056 since 2011.
E.Comp. Lionel’s exceptional dedication has also been recognised by the Province. His honours include:
- Past Provincial Standard Bearer (2003)
- Past Provincial Deputy Grand Sword-Bearer (2009)
- Past Provincial Grand Sword-Bearer (2014)
- The distinguished rank of Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah (2020)
To mark this milestone anniversary, Third Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Philip Bevan, was both delighted and privileged to present E.Comp. Lionel with his 40-year Certificate and commemorative Lapel Pin. The occasion carried particular warmth, as E.Comp. Philip previously served as the Mandating Officer to West Glamorgan Lodge in the Craft (2021–2023), where E.Comp. Lionel is a subscribing member. The two have shared a valued friendship ever since.
This celebration stands as a beacon to four decades of loyalty, service, and commitment from a Companion held in the highest esteem by all who know him.
