The Provincial Grand Chapter of South Wales is proud to announce that our Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. Paul R. Clement, has recently been invested as an Officer of the Order of St John.
The investiture took place during a distinguished ceremony in London, conducted by the Lord Prior of the Order, Professor Mark Compton, and attended by eminent members and invited guests. This prestigious honour recognises our Grand Superintendent’s outstanding dedication to charitable and humanitarian causes, principles that lie at the heart of both Freemasonry and the Royal Arch.
The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, a royal order of chivalry, is internationally renowned for its work through St John Ambulance and its global humanitarian efforts. To be appointed an Officer of the Order is a mark of high distinction and exemplary service to the wider community.
The Order of St John has supported the Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group for over a century, dating back to the time of HRH The Duke of Connaught, who served as both Grand Master of the Knights Templar and Grand Prior of the Order. In his own distinguished capacity, E.Comp. Paul. R Clement has served as Grand Master of the Knights Templar for the past eight years, and has visited Jerusalem on three occasions, most recently to officially open a new paediatric ward at the main hospital.
On behalf of all Companions in the Province, we extend our warmest congratulations to our Grand Superintendent on this richly deserved recognition. His unwavering commitment to Freemasonry and public service continues to inspire us all and exemplifies the highest ideals of our Fraternity.
