Welsh Rugby Clubs Lodge No.9986 consecration, Saturday 30th November

The exciting and historic Consecration of Welsh Rugby Clubs Lodge No.9986 – the birth of a new lodge in The Province of South Wales – will take place at Cardiff Masonic Hall on Saturday 30th November at 10.30am. Guests to be seated by 10am.

Dining at nearby Park Inn Hotel will be a celebration of a new rugby lodge with Welsh hwyl, cameraderie & rugby friendship, 3 course meal, Welsh themed entertainment, with Welsh rugby a central theme… with this wonderful new lodge to meet in Penarth Masonic Hall on the historic site where the Barbarians RFC first played Penarth RFC, it is very apt that the Consecration takes place on the day that Wales play the Barbarians in Cardiff.

The new lodge aims to raise monies to support the development of grassroots mini rugby. The lodge motto “Passing It Forward” is a reflection that the lodge members in this instance will be passing on their love of the game of rugby to future generations. Even before the lodge is consecrated, it has raised and donated £1,700 direct to mini rugby teams.

The bonds of rugby & masonic friendships will be enhanced through relationships with at least 15 other provincial rugby lodges. Welsh Rugby Clubs Lodge aims to meet on certain Fridays prior to Welsh matches during the 6 Nations and Autumn Internationals and is hoping for visitors in abundance.

With the theme of rugby throughout the evening, this will be a “must visit” lodge.

The lodge intends in future to create a Welsh Masonic Rugby team which will play for the Inter-Province Cup and will also play against the new England Masonic Rugby team.
