Update on Masonic Meetings – 18th December 2020

The below letter from the Provincial Grand Secretary / Scribe E
was sent on 18 December 2020

Dear Brother Secretaries and Companion Scribes E.,

I greet you well and write subsequent to the announcements made by the First Minister on 16 December 2020, which may be found here:
https://gov.wales/higher-level-restrictions-come-force-control-coronavirus

The alert level 4 restrictions for household mixing, staying-at-home, holiday accommodation and travel will come into force after the 5-day Christmas period on 28 December 2020.

Whilst we need to see the detail from the Welsh Government for confirmation, we may safely assume that, at level 4, indoor organised activity will be suspended. That situation (once confirmed) will continue until any subsequent announcement is made.

Please therefore work on the basis that legislation will prevent Masonic meetings from taking place from 28 December 2020, and a suspension of Masonic activity is therefore in place in level 4 areas from that date until further notice.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master and the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Christmas full of hope and we wish you good health, so that we can enjoy each other’s company, in 2021; when safe to do so.

With sincere and fraternal regards,

Ben Gait
Provincial Grand Secretary/Scribe E.
