The 2023 Annual Strawberry Tea delights attendees in Porthcawl

Porthcawl’s Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court home hosted its highly anticipated annual Strawberry Tea event on Saturday 3rd June, drawing in a vibrant crowd eager to enjoy the festivities. The event was officially opened by the Provincial Grand Masters, R.W.Bro. D. Gerald Rowbottom of South Wales Province and R.W.Bro. James Ross of the Province of West Wales.

Under the radiant sunshine, attendees relished in the delightful ambiance that encompassed live music, cheerful laughter and an array of enjoyable activities for all ages. Children found endless entertainment in the kiddies corner, featuring a bouncy castle, mini-golf, catch the rat and even a community police car.

The Widows Sons Masonic Riders, presented a generous donation of £500.00 to the AEPOWC manager, Alison Aberdeen, adding to the event’s charitable impact. Meanwhile, adults were treated to an abundance of indulgences, including raffles, cake stalls, mouthwatering burgers, hotdogs, alcoholic beverages, tombola, and, of course, the much-loved Strawberries and Cream.

Heartfelt gratitude was extended to the dedicated volunteers who selflessly contributed their time and energy to ensure the event’s success. Their unwavering support, commitment, and enthusiasm were acknowledged as instrumental in creating an outstanding experience for all.

The organisers expressed their sincere appreciation to the attendees, recognising their continued and loyal support that made the Strawberry Tea a memorable and cherished community tradition.

Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court lies in the seaside town of Porthcawl along the south coast of Wales. The Home provides residential care, nursing and residential dementia support and can support up to 76 residents with permanent care or short stay respite breaks.
