Provincial Appointments and Investitures at Hendre Lodge

At today’s meeting of Hendre Lodge No. 3250, the Worshipful Master V.W.Bro Williams Jenkins announced that the brethren were honoured to elect R.W.Bro. D. Gerald Rowbottom, Provincial Grand Master as their next Worshipful Master.

The Worshipful Master “Called off” of the meeting, to receive the R.W. Provincial Grand Master and his officers to conduct especial business, namely to appoint and invest officers of Provincial Grand Lodge.

W.Bro. Dr Akram Baig, was appointed and invested as Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Province of South Wales. W.Bro. Akram has a wealth of talent and experience, serving on many committees whilst occupying prestigious and high offices throughout his Masonic career, and is currently the 2nd Provincial Grand Principal in the Royal Arch.

The Provincial Grand Master was delighted to announce further appointments in the craft;
W.Bro. Neal Whitehead as Provincial Grand Almoner, W.Bro. Neal is a vastly experienced Almoner who has served as Lodge Almoner for many years and comes highly recommended by his predecessor, W.Bro. Philip Bevan who will be retiring from the office due to his forthcoming appointment as Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals. We would like to thank W.Bro. Philip for all his dedication and hard work over the many years especially through the uncertain times during the pandemic.

W.Bro. Simon Francis has been appointed as Provincial Grand Learning and Development Officer, W.Bro Simon is a vastly experienced Freemason with extensive knowledge having served for many years as an Active Provincial Grand Officer in a variety of roles, we would like to thank W.Bro. Merrick Jones, who will be retiring from office, for all his hard work and commitment he has given to the Learning and Development role over the last 6 years.

Lastly, the Provincial Grand Master was honoured to present a Certificate of Special Commendation to W.Bro. John Anthony of Barry Lodge No. 2357, for sustained excellence as a member of the Petitions Applications Officer’s team by his selfless, dedicated, and sensitive actions in helping those Brethren and families in need, in addition to other valuable services rendered by him to the Royal Craft in the Province of South Wales.
