Festival Cheer & Awards in Barry

Despite the challenges 2020 has presented the South Wales Province three Barry Lodges have been hard at work supporting our 2021 Festival Appeal in aid of the RMBI Care Co. So much so that a special presentation was made Monday 30th November in the “socially distanced temple” by RW.Bro Sir Paul Williams OBE DL, Junior Grand Warden, the Festival Chairman.

Wenvoe Lodge No.9038 led the way receiving not one but two awards. Under the watchful gaze of the Worshipful Master, W.Bro Kelvin Gill, W.Bro John Lloyd their Lodge Charity Steward received the SILVER “Pouch” Award having attained this some months ago. RW.Bro Paul then presented W.Bro Kelvin with a GOLD Award Certificate which they achieved more recently.

RW.Bro Paul said “Wenvoe Lodge have had a tremendous 2020 progressing from Bronze to Gold in a matter of months. Their focus on ensuring all brethren qualify for a jewel and wherever possible extend their RPP’s through until December 2023 is a tribute to their commitment to charitable giving”.

He added “This is a clear example to us all of what is good about our wonderful order in what are unprecedented times.”

Receiving their BRONZE Awards were W.Bro. Paul Wilkings, Charity Steward of Barry Lodge No. 2357 and W.Bro. Gwyn Evans of Loyal Sportsman’s Lodge No.9197.

Paul and Gwyn agreed “This will act as a timely spur to the brethren of our Lodges to unite further in striving for SILVER before the Festival concludes. We are delighted to be able to help those less fortunate than ourselves in such a tangible way”.
