2021 Festival

An update of the Provincial Grand Lodge of South Wales, 2021 Festival Appeal – Hendre Lodge 25th January

Hendre Lodge No. 3250 will be hosting a meeting on Thursday 25th January 2018, at the Masonic Temple, Guildford Crescent, Cardiff (CF10 2HL) where V.W. Bro Sir Paul Williams OBE DL KStJ PGSwdB, Chair of The 2021 Festival Committee will be giving a presentation talk An update of the Provincial Grand Lodge of South Wales, 2021 Festival Appeal in aid of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution.

There will also be a presentation to those Lodges, who have achieved the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, in recognition of the donations they have made to the 2021 Festival in aid of the RMBI. The meeting will celebrate the achievements of those Lodges who will be presented with their Award by the Festival President R.W.Bro. Gareth Jones OBE, Provincial Grand Master.

The Lodge Charity Steward or Worshipful Master will attend and receive the Award and all Brethren are welcome to witness the presentation and celebrate their outstanding achievement. However, those wishing to attend will need to book early as numbers are limited.

Tour of the Province, Day 3

For the final and day 3 of the Tercentenary Events Committee, Tour of the Province bike ride, W.Bro Simon Francis and W.Bro Tim Clark are joined by W.Bro Richard Owen, Bro Gary Cairnes and W.Bro Elwyn Marfell Jones.

Leaving Swansea at 07.00, the riders visit the Masonic Halls at Bridgend, Cowbridge, Pontyclun, Penarth, Barry, Llantwit Major and Porthcawl before finishing at the The Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court in time for the annual Strawberry Tea – a total of 130km!

Tour of the Province, Day 2

Day 2 of the Tercentenary Events Committee Tour of the Province bike ride sees the team down to 2 riders. Leaving at 07.34, the Swansea to Cardiff leg will see the W.Bro Simon Francis and W.Bro Tim Clark visiting the Masonic Halls at Port Talbot, Maesteg, Treorchy, Pontypridd, Treharris, Bargoed, Caerphilly – finally reaching Cardiff Masonic Hall after a 120km ride.

They’re off! – Tour of the Province, Day 1

The Tercentenary Events Committee Tour of the Province bike ride team set off from Swansea Masonic Hall at 7.30am on Thursday 1st June 2017. Visiting the 23 Masonic Centres of the Province over three days, celebrating 300 years of United Grand Lodge, a total of 380km will be covered with over 3,000m climbed.

Festival Golf Day – Neath Golf Club 19th May 2017

The Provincial Ryder Cup Goes East


The inaugural “Ryder Cup” golf tournament between Brethren representing the East and West of the Masonic Province of South Wales was held at Neath Golf Club, Swansea on Friday 19th May 2017. The event, organised by WBro Phil Osborne of the RP St John Charles Lodge No 6466, was well attended with the Deputy Provincial Grand Master VWBro Roy Woodward Captaining the West team and the Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro Alan Gardener Captaining the East. All proceeds on the day to be donated to support the 2021 RMBI Festival.

Swansea Lodges Quiz Night – February 27th

Supporting the RMBI 2021 Festival

A quiz night was held on Monday 27th February, 2017, at the Rose Indienne Restaurant, St Helens Road, Swansea, inviting Swansea Lodges (and non Masons) to attend and show the support that Swansea Lodges continue to provide towards the 2021 Festival. The event was organised by W.Bro. Philip Osborne and the quizmaster on the night, at great expense (not really), was the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, V.W.Bro. Roy Woodward.

Festival Golf Day – Ryder Cup Style

The Ryder Cup has come to Wales again. This time a Masonic golf event supporting the 2021 Festival in aid of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution.

The format will be East of the Province versus the West of the Province.
