A meeting to remember at Craig Yr Hesg Lodge

Dispensations were granted for Craig Yr Hesg Lodge No. 6724, to pass three brothers, and initiate a further three candidates, the same day on Thursday 1st June 2023.

This rare event took place at Pontypridd Masonic Hall recently which attracted a large number of brethren to Craig Yr Hesg Lodge. The afternoon began at 4.30pm with Past Master, W.Bro. Robert Smith, PPrJGD, occupying the Chair of King Solomon to pass Bro Andrew Bennett, Bro. Alun Evans and Bro Neil Hawkins. A proud moment indeed for W.Bro Robert Smith who not only occupied the chair as Worshipful but is also the Lodge Membership Officer, and the driving force behind the Lodges pro – proactive approach for attracting new members.

The Lodge was called off at 6pm and re-opened after a quick refreshment break at 6.15pm the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Charles Otley, occupied the chair of King Solomon who immediately requested that dispensation be read out he then proceeded to initiate Mr Michael Huw Rose, Mr Scott Hamilton and Mr Nigel Allen Withey. The Lodge was closed at 8.10pm and photographs were taken to record the event.

The evening was an extremely proud moment for the Lodge and all its members. All members including the visitors played their part in making the evening such a memorable occasion for all the candidates.

The atmosphere at the festive board as you can imagine was electric, plenty of fun, laughter and camaraderie was had by all… what a wonderful and pleasurable welcome into Freemasonry our newly initiated brethren received, and indeed for our newly passed brethren.

The brethren of Craig Yr Hesg Lodge were extremely grateful for all the hard work and planning by the Lodge Secretary, W.Bro. Ian Jones, PPrGSwdB, who undoubtedly had a few sleepless nights organising the administrative details for both ceremonies coupled with the organising of the dispensations, and to the Lodge DC, W Bro. Frank Heathman, PPrDepGDC, for all his hard work ensuring both ceremonies flowed by his determined dedication to ensure the floor work on the evening was timed to the utmost precision. Each and every officers dedication to the rehearsals in the build up to the ceremony was clearly evident and certainly shone through on the night.

Craig Yr Hesg Lodge will meet on the first Thursday from September to June. To find out out more contact Lodge Secretary W.Bro. Ian Jones – ianjones94@nullaol.com
