Supporting young musicians

W.Bro David Rose of the Lodge of St. Martin 8771 is seeking to request financial assistance on behalf of The Glam Organisation, established some six months ago for supporting young musicians wishing to learn to play particular instruments in schools throughout Wales. The organisation is not yet registered as a Charity, not currently operating for the prescribed two years, but overseen by a group of volunteers.

The intention is to supply – on loan – any instrument that a child may have an interest in learning to play, until such a time that parents can afford to obtain an instrument themselves. At that point the loan instrument goes on to another child, and so on, hoping to raise the profile of the musical arts amongst young people to where it was some 25 or 30 years ago… More Orchestras Wind Bands, Brass Bands and Ensembles locally and regionally is the aim, plus support for singing groups and choirs, working with and supporting permanent and peripatetic music teachers. The future of music lies with the young, and Wales prides itself on a musical culture.

Donations (payable to The Glam Organisation) can if desired be sent to The Glam Organisation, 10 New Scales Houses, Llwydcoed, Aberdare, CF44 0UG.
