An Unforgettable Weekend for Lodge of Round Table No. 9549

On Friday 15th May, Lodge of Round Table No. 9549 held their annual Installation Ceremony at Cardiff Masonic Hall.

The occasion was honoured by the presence of the Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Robert G. Payne, who was accompanied by his full Provincial Escort, including Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, Worshipful Brother Dr. Akram Baig and Worshipful Brother Merrick C. Jones, together with a distinguished number of Grand Lodge Officers. The evening was further enhanced by the attendance of the Provincial Grand Master of Gloucestershire, Right Worshipful Brother Ian M. Davies.

The Duke of Kent Temple provided a truly magnificent setting, with more than 80 brethren in attendance, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere throughout the ceremony.

Many visiting brethren represented Round Table Lodges from neighbouring Provinces and from further afield, gathering in anticipation of the Charity Gala Dinner held the following evening as part of the Lodges of Round Table Biennial Reunion 2026 at Cornerstone on Charles Street, Cardiff. Profits from the event will be donated to the 2032 Festival Appeal.

The ceremony itself was both celebratory and inspiring as Worshipful Brother Steve James was installed into the Chair of King Solomon in an exemplary manner. During the evening, the 2032 Festival President, accompanied by the Festival Chairman, was delighted to present Festival Jewels to members of the Festival Committee who were present.

The Festive Board that followed was exceptional, with an electric atmosphere filling the main dining hall at Cardiff Masonic Hall, a fitting conclusion to a remarkable and unforgettable occasion for all in attendance.
