On Thursday 26th March, Aelwyd Lodge No. 7982 proudly hosted the Monmouthshire Freemasons Theatre Group as they took their acclaimed Goose and Gridiron 1717 production on the road.
Held at the iconic and historic Merthyr Masonic Hall, the evening welcomed over sixty guests who were treated to a performance of the highest calibre. The production brought to life the fascinating story of how the Ancients and the Moderns came together to form the United Grand Lodge of England, offering both insight and entertainment in equal measure.
The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Assistant Provincial Grand Master designate, W. Bro. Neil Martin Evans, along with a member of the Order of Women Freemasons, highlighting the inclusive and collaborative spirit of the event.

Following the performance, attendees enjoyed a highly successful white table event. Freemasons and non-Freemasons alike came together to share in the rich history and traditions of the Craft, with engaging conversations showcasing the significant charitable and community work carried out both locally and further afield.
Looking ahead, the Monmouthshire Freemasons Theatre Group has a busy summer planned as they begin rehearsals for their next production, The Napoleonic Initiation.
