Lodge of Benevolence Supports Maggie’s with £3,000 Donation

On St David’s Day, members of Lodge of Benevolence No. 7305 came together for a Sunday lunch in support of Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres. The well-attended event proved a great success, raising an impressive total of £3,000 for the charity.

Following the event, the Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, V.W.Bro. Roy Woodward, Chaplain of the Lodge of Benevolence, proudly presented a cheque at Singleton Hospital. In addition, the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Robert G. Payne, Charity Steward of Lodge of Benevolence, together with W.Bro. Jeffrey Coles, Worshipful Master, made a further presentation at Velindre Cancer Care Hospital, Cardiff.

Maggie’s Cancer Care Cymru provides free practical, emotional, and social support to anyone living with cancer, as well as to their family and friends. Operating from uniquely designed centres situated within the grounds of major NHS hospitals, Maggie’s offers a welcoming “breathing space” away from clinical settings, focusing on the individual as a whole rather than solely on their diagnosis.

This generous donation reflects the Lodge’s continued commitment to charitable giving and community support, and will help Maggie’s continue its invaluable work across Wales.
