On Thursday, 23rd October, Hendre Lodge No. 3250 held its annual Installation Meeting at Cardiff Masonic Hall, where a fine evening of ceremony and celebration was enjoyed by all in attendance.
The Installing Master, V.W.Bro. Peter Jones, PDepProvGM, had the honour of installing his successor, W.Bro. David Hackman, PAsstProvGM, as the 118th Worshipful Master of the Lodge.
Brethren from all parts of the Province, and from further afield, filled the Cardiff Masonic Hall, with well over one hundred brethren present to celebrate this memorable occasion.
Fittingly for such a distinguished event, the evening was further honoured by the presence of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master in Charge, V.W.Bro. Rev. Canon D. Huw E. Mosford, who was accompanied by his Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, W.Bro’s Christopher M. L. Davies, Robert G. Payne, Timothy R. Clark, Dr Akram Baig, and R. Michael Coombes, together with the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. Martyn P. Wake.
Hendre Lodge was also deeply honoured to welcome several distinguished Past Masters of Hendre Lodge, notably, R.W.Bro. Gareth Jones, OBE, Past Assistant Grand Master, Past Provincial Grand Master, Third Grand Principal, as well as R.W.Bro. Captain Sir Norman Lloyd-Edwards, Past Provincial Grand Master, and R.W.Bro. Sir Paul Williams.
A particularly touching moment during the ceremony came when the Master Elect, W.Bro. David Hackman, was presented for Installation by his blood brother, W.Bro. Malcolm Hackman, adding a personal and heartfelt note to an already memorable evening.
The celebrations continued in fine form at the festive board, where the Duke of Kent Temple and dining room were filled to almost capacity, reflecting the affection and esteem held for Hendre Lodge and its installing Master, and new Worshipful Master.
The evening marked yet another proud chapter in the long and distinguished history of Hendre Lodge No. 3250.
