On Saturday, 20th September 2025, Edgar Rutter Lodge No. 7196, held its annual Installation Ceremony at Cardiff Masonic Hall.
The Lodge was honoured by the presence of the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Robert G. Payne, who was on duty and accompanied by his Provincial Escort. The meeting proved both memorable and poignant, being the first gathering of the Lodge since the passing of our dearly departed Provincial Grand Master. A Past Master and Honorary Member of Edgar Rutter Lodge, and was especially close to his heart, and it was particularly fitting that his nephew, W.Bro. David Rees, was made an Honorary Member during the morning’s proceedings, something that would surely have delighted him.
The Lodge opened at the earlier time of 11:00 a.m., after which the Brethren stood in complete silence as a moving eulogy was delivered by W.Bro. Warren Jones.
It was a true delight to welcome a distinguished number of Grand Lodge and Provincial Grand Lodge Officers, whose presence added greatly to the significance of the day.
Heartfelt congratulations are extended to the newly Installed Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Phillip David Hall, and to the Installing Master, W.Bro. John Watson, for conducting the ceremony with such dignity and skill.
Following the meeting, the Brethren enjoyed a wonderful Festive Board in the best traditions of the Craft. With excellent food, fine company, and an abundance of joy, laughter, and shared stories, it was a fitting conclusion to a day of warm fellowship and lasting memory.
