W.Bro. Paul Kelvin Smith Celebrates 50 Wonderful Years of Craft Freemasonry

Worshipful Brother Paul’s distinguished Masonic journey commenced on the 21st of April 1975, when he was initiated into Cambrensis Lodge No. 6608, Cardiff. Demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment, he progressed through the offices of the Lodge, ultimately being installed as Worshipful Master on the 17th of May 1986, a position he would be honoured to hold again in 1999 and 2013.

In October 2014, W.Bro. Paul became a subscribing member of both Hendre Lodge No. 3250 and Lodge of Benevolence No. 7305. Further strengthening his Masonic ties, he became a joining member of Lodge of St Martin No. 8771, Caerphilly, on the 24th of November 2023.

His undeniable talents and dedication were duly recognised through a series of distinguished Provincial honours. In June 1992, he was appointed Past Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, followed by promotions to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2002, and Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2008. His exemplary service was honoured in Grand Lodge when he was appointed Past Grand Standard Bearer in April 2014, with a subsequent promotion to Past Assistant Grand Registrar in 2022.

W.Bro. Paul’s contribution to Freemasonry extends far beyond the Craft. He has been a member of the Royal Arch for over four decades and holds Grand Rank in numerous Companion Orders. Most notably, he was installed as V∴Ill∴Bro. Paul Kelvin-Smith 33°, Inspector General in and over the District of South Wales and Monmouthshire, on the 17th of July 2018.

To mark his outstanding 50 years of service to the Craft, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Robert G. Payne, was delighted to present W.Bro. Paul with his 50-year certificate and commemorative lapel pin on behalf of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master.
