W.Bro. Roger F. Richmond to retire as Assistant Provincial Grand Master

At the last meeting of the joint Provincial Executive W.Bro. Roger F. Richmond, PSGD announced his intention to retire as Assistant Provincial Grand Master on 31st March 2020.

In thanking Roger for his excellent and tireless contributions to the Province over many years, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master said that he expected to announce a successor Assistant Provincial Grand Master in the new year. Herein follows a personal message from Roger.

Brethren and friends.

Nearly six years ago the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master afforded me the great honour of making me one of his Assistants. I am immensely grateful for the trust and confidence he placed in me, but all good things must come to an end. I have asked him to accept my resignation and he has graciously acceded. I have taken this decision to enable me to spend more time with my wife and family before age and failing health intervene.

It would also be wrong for me to stand in the way of the cohort of very capable Masons in this Province, and I do not envy the PGM in choosing my successor.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those Brethren who have made my time in office so wonderfully memorable and welcomed me into their Lodges with open arms and magnificent hospitality. The memories will stay with me for a very long time. I would also like to thank my colleagues on the Provincial Executive both present and past for their companionship and guidance. Believe me, they are a very special group.

Although I am retiring as an Assistant on 31st March, I hope to see as many of you as I can in the years to come in my new role as a Past APGM.

Best wishes and thanks to you all.

Roger Richmond, Assistant Provincial Grand Master (Soon to be Past)
