W.Bro. Clive Poole Celebrates 60 years of Freemasonry

On the 11th of March, 2024., Gelligaer Lodge No. 6298, were joined by Brethren from around the Province to celebrate and commemorate the incredible Masonic journey of W.Bro. Clive Whitney Poole, who celebrated 60 years of continuous Craft Freemasonry.

PAProvGM, W.Bro. Brian Eveliegh was initiated, the same year as W.Bro. Clive became Worshipful Master, so was honoured to present him with his 60-year certificate and prestigious Lapel Pin.

W.Bro. Clive was initiated on the 13th of January 1964, progressing through the various offices and attaining the Chair of King Solomon on the 13th of September 1976.

In Provincial Grand Lodge, W.Bro Clive was appointed Past Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 1982, promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sword-Bearer in 2000 and promoted to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2012.

W.Bro. Clive has been pivotal to the success of Gelligaer Lodge over the years, an experienced Freemason who is always on hand to offer his support, assistance, and advice.

The Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Malcolm Rees was delighted on behalf of the Lodge to present W.Bro. Clive with a set of miniature working tools to express the high esteem and admiration held for him within the Lodge.

Coincidentally a 60-year certificate accompanied by a lapel pin, and a set of working tools was still not enough, as at the festive board W.Bro. Clive managed to draw his own raffle ticket taking home with him a bottle of whiskey!
