Update on the Masonic Office Bridgend – August 2024

On the 13th day of June, A.L. 6024, A.D. 2024, a historic milestone was reached within our Province. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master and Most Excellent Grand Superintendent in and over South Wales, D. Gerald Rowbottom, ceremoniously turned the first shovelful of earth, marking the beginning of construction for the new Masonic office at Bridgend.

We are pleased to report significant progress in the 2 months since this pivotal work began. The groundwork and footings have been completed, and the concrete floors are now clearly visible. Scaffolding has been erected to assist in the brickwork, with Thermalite blocks being used for their exceptional thermal insulation properties. These blocks will not only reduce CO2 emissions throughout the building’s life but will also provide excellent thermal and sound insulation. Most importantly, the construction aligns with modern sustainability targets.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Masonic Benevolent Fund of South Wales (MBF) for their foresight and generosity in funding the build. Once completed we look forward to becoming its tenants, this new Masonic hub will provide a comfortable and peaceful space for our staff and volunteers, ensuring the Province’s smooth and efficient operation for years to come.
