Update on Coronavirus (Covid-19) Precautions

Further to last week’s statement from Dr David Staples (Grand Secretary & CEO of United Grand Lodge of England), Ryan Williams (Grand Secretary at Mark Masons’ Hall) and Dr Giles Shilson (Grand Secretary General of the Ancient and Accepted Rite) on the Coronavirus.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master and Most Excellent Grand Superintendent wish to reiterate this advice and stress its importance.

Consequently, this means that there should be no shaking of hands before, during or after our meetings.

In addition, all Masonic Centres should emulate Freemasons’ Hall in London by directing all attendees immediately to the washrooms upon arrival to thoroughly wash their hands for 20 seconds in hot water.

The Joint Executive will avoid shaking hands with Brethren and Companions not as a discourtesy, but to set the example that we must avoid physical contact for now until the emergency has abated.
