South Wales Freemasons donate four iPads to Bridgend’s new Children’s Emergency A&E Ward

Peter Williams, Vice Chairman of the TLC South Wales Charity, was delighted to deliver four Apple iPads to Bridgend’s new Children’s Emergency A&E Ward.

Sarah Devine, Consultant, along with hospital nursing staff were thrilled to receive the iPads and TLC Bears for the Children.

Since the Teddies for Loving Care Charity started, TLC have delivered 2,528 bears to the Bridgend Accident and Emergency unit.

Creating a diversion

TLC Teddy Bears aren’t just employed to comfort the child. The nurses will often use them as a diversion tactic in order to get their jobs done quickly and efficiently.
“Often we use the teddy to mimic the injuries that the child has.” explains one Nurse.
“We’ll place a sticky plaster on the teddy’s arm if the child has hurt theirs, so we can use it as a diversion technique.”
