This year, W.Bro Edgar James Wilding Griffiths (Jim), has been honored with the appointment of Provincial Senior Grand Warden. He was initiated into the Ithon Lodge No. 3320 in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, in 1973, and assumed the role of Worshipful Master in 1989. Over the years, Jim has achieved various promotions, currently holding the title of Past Grand Standard Bearer, a position received in 2005. He is also an esteemed member of the Lodge of Benevolence.
Within the Royal Arch, Jim was exalted in 1974 and later elected Z in 1992. The current rank held, is Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, an appointment received in 2004. Additionally, he is an active member of the Hendre Chapter.
In 1985, Jim was admitted to the Maesyfed Chapter Rose Croix, where he attained the rank of Sovereign in both 1993 and 1997. His present rank within the chapter is 31°, and he is also a valued member of the Sir Frederick Alban Chapter.
Moving on to the Knights Templar, Jim gained admission to the Sir Thomas Docwra Preceptory in 1986 and later assumed the position of Eminent Preceptor in 1994. Furthermore, he proudly serves as a founder member of the Brecknock Castle Preceptory.
Regarding the Knights Templar Priests, Jim was admitted into the Warwickshire Tabernacle in 1990 but soon resigned to become a founder member of Melenydd Tabernacle later that same year. In 2001, he achieved the esteemed position of High Priest after several promotions, and his present rank is Past Grand VII Pillar KHW.
Throughout the Masonic year, W.Bro Jim eagerly anticipates meeting as many Brethren as possible and contributing to the fraternity’s shared journey.
