W.Bro. Keri Evans has this year been honoured with the appointment of Provincial Grand Mentor for the Province of South Wales, and is looking forward to supporting the Provincial Grand Master and his Executive in this important and challenging role within the Province.
W.Bro. Keri was initiated into Gelligaer Lodge No. 6298 in 1985, attaining the Chair in 1994, becoming a joining member of Ystrad Mynach Lodge No. 8567 in 2007, becoming Master in 2008, and is currently serving the Lodge as Secretary, an office he has held since 2010, and is the current Royal Arch Representative. He became a joining member of St Davids Lodge No 679 in 2019, serving as Secretary from 2019 to 2023, currently serving the offices of Almoner and Assistant Secretary. In Provincial Grand Lodge he was appointed PPrAGReg in 2000, promoted to PPrDepGDC in 2009, promoted to PPrGReg in 2015, and promoted to PPrJGW in 2019.
W.Bro. Keri has actively served the Province previously as the Deputy Membership & Mentoring Officer for over four years, including organising the successful Tercentenary Celebrations held at Cottrell Park Golf Club. One of his many highlights during the role was meeting the Brethren throughout the Province, especially helping many Brethren on the start of their “Masonic Journey” and is looking forward to the coming year to meet many more and to assist in any way he can.
W.Bro. Keri was afforded the honour and prestige of personally receiving a commendation from the Grand Master HRH the Duke of Kent, for his leadership in delivering the “Square Meals Initiative” for the North of the Province during the pandemic.
In Royal Arch he was exalted into the St Davids Chapter No 2226 (Mons) in 1987. He became a Founder Member of the Gelligaer Chapter No. 6298 in 1988 and was installed as First Principal in 1998. In Provincial Grand Chapter he was appointed to Provincial Grand Standard Bearer in 2004, promoted to PPrDepGSwdB in 2009, promoted to PPrGReg in 2015, and promoted to PPrGSN in 2020. He currently serves as Scribe E of the Gelligaer Chapter No. 6298, taking over in 2015 after serving many years as the Chapter DC.
W.Bro. Keri is a member of numerous other Masonic Orders, taking active roles in Mark, R.A.M., Knights Templar, Royal and Select Masters, and is a Member of Rose Croix and more recently joined The Order of Secret Monitor.
W.Bro. Keri said he is looking forward to the year ahead and will assist in any way he can to help the Lodge Mentors & Brethren throughout the Province, and reminds us that we are all “Mentors” but above all he is looking forward to being able to “Engage and Encourage” the members of our Province, and to do so with “Enthusiasm”!
