He was initiated into Singleton Lodge No. 8399 in November 2008. He was appointed Master Mason Past Provincial Grand Steward in 2016, before going on to serve as Master of both Singleton Lodge No. 8399 and the Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge No. 8900 in the same year, during 2019 – 2020. He was further promoted to Active Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2021, followed by his appointment as Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2023.
In addition to his service within Singleton Lodge, W.Bro. Rees is a member of Lord Swansea Lodge No. 8354, Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge No. 8900 and the South Wales Lodge of Advancement No. 8748. Married to his wife Diane for over 36 years, he is a proud father of four grown-up children, two sons and two daughters and a grandfather to one grandson. In 2019 – 2020, he had the privilege of initiating, passing, and raising both of his sons, Siôn and Daniel, together into Singleton Lodge. This family tradition was carried forward in 2024, when he proudly installed his son Daniel as Master of Singleton Lodge.
Beyond his lodge commitments, W.Bro. Rees has been a member of the Provincial Communications Team, being responsible for developing the Provincial website in 2014 and has managed it continuously since. He has also contributed as a member of the Provincial Events Committee, a role he has fulfilled since 2015.
