Membership Officers Seminar agenda – Saturday 14th June 2025

On behalf of the Provincial Strategy Team, we are pleased to announce the agenda for the upcoming Membership Officers Seminar, to be held at Bridgend Masonic Hall.

This important seminar will provide Membership Officers, and Lodge members with insights, tools, and strategies aligned with our Provincial goals, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to attracting, engaging, and retaining members. The day will be led by key members of the Provincial Strategy Team.

Programme of the Day, 9.30am start:

1. Welcome & Introduction – W.Bro. R. Michael Coombes, AProvGM

An opening address from the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, setting the tone for the day and outlining the importance of our collective role in strengthening membership.

2. Format for the Day – W.Bro. Duncan Kennedy, ProvGMO

Overview of the seminar’s structure and what participants can expect from each session.

3. Planning for the Future – W.Bro. Paul Haley

A detailed presentation of our overarching strategy and the pathway for implementation at Lodge level.

4. Freemasonry in the Digital Age: Attracting the Public Through Social Media – W.Bro. Karl Frowen, Communications Officer.

How to use social media platforms effectively to raise awareness, change perceptions, and generate interest in Freemasonry.

5. Engage – W.Bro. Ian Jones & W.Bro. Neil Whitehead

Best practices for engaging prospective members, from first contact to initiation, ensuring a warm, informed, and meaningful journey.

6. Retrieval – W.Bro. Arwyn Reynolds & W.Bro. James Forbes Keir

Strategies for reconnecting with lapsed or disengaged members, understanding their reasons for stepping back, and offering support for re-engagement.

7. New & Young Masons; The Clwb Colonnade Club and The UGLE Universities Scheme – W.Bro. Dr Sam Williams, ProvGMO Designate.

An exploration of how these important initiatives support young and student Freemasons, and how Lodges can benefit by supporting and participating.

8. Open Forum / Questions.

An opportunity for attendees to ask questions, share ideas, and discuss implementation at Lodge level.

9. Closing Address – W.Bro. R. Michael Coombes, AProvGM

Reflections on the day and a call to action for Membership Officers and Lodge members to take forward what they’ve learned into their Lodges.
