On Friday, 13th February 2026, Luminary Lodge No. 8530 held their Annual Installation Ceremony at Merthyr Masonic Hall.
The Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Dr Akram Baig, was in attendance to oversee proceedings, accompanied by his Provincial Escort.
A wonderful number of visiting brethren gathered to support both the Installing Master, W.Bro. Phillip Thomas, and the Master Elect, Bro. Jamie Shore. A delightful and dignified ceremony ensued, truly typifying the spirit of Freemasonry in the North of the Province.
It was particularly heartwarming to see Bro. Darren Shore present, beaming with pride as he witnessed (as far as he was able) his blood brother being installed as Worshipful Master. It was very much a family occasion, made all the more special as Amanda, wife of the newly installed Worshipful Master, warmly welcomed brethren beforehand in the dining hall with teas, coffees, and biscuits.
A lively and enjoyable Festive Board followed, filled with laughter, good humour, and true Masonic camaraderie.
