On Saturday 10th January 2026, Loyal Cambrian Lodge No. 110 held its Annual Installation Ceremony at Merthyr Tydfil Masonic Hall, with over 100 Brethren in attendance, creating an electric and vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening.

The Lodge was honoured by the presence of the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Dr Akram Baig, who was accompanied by his Provincial Escort, the Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Shaun Cuddihy, and the Provincial Grand Steward, W.Bro. Matthew McCarthy. Adding further distinction to the proceedings, the Lodge was proud to welcome Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. R. Michael Coombes, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Marc Lewis, and the 2032 Festival Chairman, W.Bro. Simon Daniel, along with an array of Grand Lodge Officers and Acting Provincial Grand Lodge Officers.
The Lodge was opened by the outgoing Worshipful Master, W.Bro. David Rees, who then handed over responsibilities to W.Bro. Andrew Elliot. W.Bro. Elliot delivered a wonderful and heartfelt ceremony, installing his son-in-law, Bro. Gareth Crowther, into the Chair of King Solomon in an exemplary and highly impressive manner, which was warmly received by all present.
Loyal Cambrian Lodge No. 110 is an Athol Lodge, holding a warrant originally issued under the authority of the Antients Grand Lodge of England, led by the Dukes of Atholl. Such Lodges are steeped in history and are recognised for preserving ancient customs and traditions that pre-date the Union of the Grand Lodges in 1813. This rich heritage places Loyal Cambrian Lodge firmly among the historic foundations of Freemasonry.
