Lodge of Benevolence holds St David’s Day Sunday Lunch

On Sunday 1st March 2026, Lodge of Benevolence No. 7305 held its St David’s Day Sunday Lunch at Penarth Masonic Hall in aid of Maggie’s. We are delighted to inform you that the event raised the fantastic sum of £2,685 in support of Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres, a wonderful achievement for such a worthy cause.

The dining hall was filled to capacity, reflecting the tremendous support shown by members, guests and friends.

Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Jeff Coles said “We are honoured by the attendance of the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Robert G Payne, and for the generous donation of £500 from the Provincial Grand Lodge of South Wales, which greatly contributed to the final total. My sincere thanks go to him for his continued encouragement and support” Thanks were also extended to everyone who helped make the afternoon such a success whether by attending, donating raffle prizes, or kindly sending contributions despite being unable to join us.

Special thanks was given to Lodge Secretary, W.Bro. Julian Rees, for preparing the place cards and table plan, and to all at Penarth Masonic Hall for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality. As always, the catering team delivered a delicious meal enjoyed by all present.

There was delightful entertainment throughout the afternoon by Jane Coles (Daughter of the Worshipful Master) at the piano, Heledd Wynn Newton on the harp, and the Province’s very own Bro. Anthony Stuart Lloyd, whose exceptional voice brought the event to a memorable close.
