Celebrating 50 Years of Devoted Service, W.Bro. William Derek Williams

On Tuesday, 25th November, W. Bro. William Derek Williams of Discovery Lodge No. 8601 celebrated an impressive 50 years as a loyal and dedicated member of Freemasonry in South Wales.

He was initiated on 19th November 1975 into Sapphire Lodge No. 5290 (now erased). He later became a joining member of Owain Glyndwr Lodge No. 8015 in 1990 (also now erased), Hendre Lodge No. 3250 in 2008, and Discovery Lodge No. 8601 in 2017.

Throughout his Masonic journey, W. Bro. Derek progressed through various offices and was installed as Worshipful Master of Owain Glyndwr Lodge in both 1995 and 2005. His continued commitment and ability were recognised when he was appointed Past Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2001, promoted to Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 2006, and later honoured with the high rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2015.

W.Bro. Derek is regarded as a pillar of strength, wisdom, and guidance within Discovery Lodge, where he currently serves as both Lodge Mentor and Preceptor.

To mark this remarkable milestone, the Provincial Grand Master Designate, W. Bro. Robert G. Payne, was delighted to present W. Bro. Derek with his 50-year certificate and commemorative lapel pin, celebrating a truly outstanding achievement.
