On Thursday, 22nd May 2025, Mor Hafren Lodge No. 7194 in Caerphilly played host to a very special occasion — the celebration of W.Bro. David W. Bellamy’s remarkable 50 years in Craft Freemasonry.
The Lodge was honoured by the presence of the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Dr. Akram Baig, accompanied by his Provincial escort, W.Bro. John L. Williams, ProvAGDC, and W.Bro. Amir Baig, ProvGStwd. The purpose of their visit was to formally commemorate W.Bro. David’s exceptional milestone and his unwavering commitment to the Craft.
Initiated into Mor Hafren Lodge No. 7194 on 29th April 1975, W.Bro. David has since been a shining example of Masonic dedication. He served in every office within the Lodge, first reaching the Chair of King Solomon in 1986, and again in 2014 and 2024 — a testament to the respect and trust he continues to inspire among his Brethren.
His Masonic journey extends well beyond his mother Lodge. W.Bro. David is an Honorary Member of Lodge of Fidelity No. 6112, a subscribing member of both Barry Lodge and Hendre Lodge, and a founder member of St John of Jerusalem Lodge No. 10024.
His distinguished service has been rightly recognised through several Provincial Grand Rank honours:
- Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies – appointed 26th June 1993
- Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer – 2003
- Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden – 2016
- Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden – 2024
W.Bro. David is a familiar and well-loved figure throughout the Province. Known for his warm smile, cheerful demeanour, and eagerness to lend a helping hand, he continues to support Lodges far and wide. Whether assisting in ceremonies or simply offering words of wisdom, he remains a dependable and expert Brother to many.
During the evening, W.Bro. Dr. Akram Baig was proud to present W.Bro. David with his 50-year certificate and commemorative lapel pin, on behalf of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master.
On behalf of the Province, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to W.Bro. David W. Bellamy for his outstanding service and lifelong dedication to Freemasonry. May his example continue to inspire generations of Freemasons to come.
