Dear Brethren of the Province of South Wales,
Retaining The Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, Porthcawl within Freemasonry
With your generous help over the years, The Association of Friends of The Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, have been able to financially and physically support the residents of the Home for over fifty years. We have raised and contributed well in excess of £250,000 towards buildings, equipment and vehicles and supported residents with medical and mental health care. And, as you know, have been the intermediary for our Masonic Brethren and their families to enter the home for respite, long term care and living support.
We are exceptionally proud to have made a significant contribution to the extraordinarily high standards achieved at the Home and are confident that the residents recognise and greatly appreciate the support received. For this we cannot thank you enough.
You will probably be aware that the home is now up for sale and The Association of Friends have put in their bid to purchase it. We feel that it is only by retaining ownership within Freemasonry can we be confident that the exceptionally high standard that we have helped to achieve can be maintained and will continue to be available to you Brethren and your families should the need arise.
The purchase price is £4 million. We are exploring several avenues of funding and to date have been fortunate in securing a number of pledges but we need your help.
We are asking for the support of all Lodges and brethren in the Province. Can you pledge a donation that we can call on should our bid be considered for the next stage of the process?
