PROVINCIAL CHURCH SERVICE – Saturday 20th MAY 2017 at 11.00am
As many of you will already know, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master has decided to hold a Provincial Church Service in this special Tercentenary year at the Llandaff Cathedral, Cathedral Close Llandaff Cardiff. CF5 2LA at 11.00am on Saturday, 20th May 2017.
It is the PGM’s wish that as many as possible of his Grand Officers, and that all his Lodges will be represented on this important and unique day in our Provincial Calendar. All Brethren, their families and friends will of course be most welcome to attend. All Masons will be expected to wear their Masonic regalia in the Cathedral. There will be an official Provincial procession from the school through part of Llandaff, to the Cathedral for pre-selected brethren only, who will be invited by the W.Bro.Peter Jones ProvGDC. Those of our brethren who are not in the official procession will robe outside the Cathedral prior to taking their seats. There will not be room for regalia bags within the Cathedral.
Brethren this is an opportunity to show the public how proud we are to be Freemasons, and that we are celebrating the Tercentenary of United Grand Lodge.
The Cathedral holds a congregation of approximately 500 and, following the Church service, a Buffet Reception will be held at the Cathedral School Hall Cardiff CF5 2YH (at a nominal cost of £10.00 per head).
It will therefore be essential for those planning to attend to advise W Bro Alan Gardener, PSGD, utilising the enclosed reply slip no later than 1st May 2017. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Tickets will not be issued for the Church Service or the Luncheon, but in the event of either being over-subscribed, unsuccessful applicants will be advised, if you don’t hear from W. Bro. Gardener, you can be assured that your lunch is reserved.
If any Worshipful Masters are unable to attend, they are requested to inform W Bro Alan Gardener of the name of the Brother nominated to represent their Lodge. In addition, please ensure this letter is read out on the Second Rising of your next Regular Meeting, provided, that it is held before 1st May 2017.Brethren, I am sure I can count on your support to ensure that this year’s special Church Service is a major success. Please respond positively and quickly to assure your places.
