Welcome to the Provincial web site of the Masonic Province of South Wales.

An Introduction from the Provincial Grand Master, Provincial Grand Master
R.W.Bro. Captain Sir Norman Lloyd-Edwards, KCVO, GCStJ, RD*, RNR

As the Provincial Grand Master of the Masonic Province of South Wales, I bid you welcome to this our website which I hope you will find both interesting and informative, whether or not you are a Freemason.

Our Province covers an area comprising the former counties of Glamorganshire, Breconshire and Radnorshire - hence the inclusion of the coat of arms of those three counties on our Provincial crest. Broadly, this means stretching from Llandrindod Wells in the North to Barry in the South, and from Swansea in the West to Cardiff in the East, including most of the valleys of South Wales.

We have 172 lodges who meet in nearly every town, either in a hotel, hall or one of our 22 specific Masonic Centres so there is probably one near you.

To become a Freemason a man has to apply to join a Lodge and convince the members that he is of good repute, a believer in the God of his religion and prepared to be generous in charitable giving. We welcome men of any race, colour or religion.

Our aim is to make good men better by being reminded of their duty to society, law abiding and conscious of the needs of those less fortunate, both masons and non-masons alike.

I hope that the information in this website, linked with that of the United Grand Lodge of England, is useful in helping you understand what we are about and helps to dismiss the myths which have arisen.

Should you be interested in becoming a Freemason, please contact our Provincial Office by phone or email using the contact details found at the top or bottom of each page.
